  • ½ day In-house Excel seminar

Welcome

This website describes a seminar called ‘Excel Secrets for Busy People’. It is delivered in a variety of formats including in-house seminars, conferences, public events, and a DVD version.

The material has been presented to a number of Government employees, most notably in Queensland where it has been presented at three consecutive  Queensland Health Finance Manager’s conferences, and most recently at the Inter-Departmental Government Accounting  Conference on the Gold Coast. The Queensland Department of Education has also run the series.

The material has also been presented to a number of private sector businesses, including companies such as Melbourne Casino and AAMI, and  accounting firms such Perks of Adelaide, and DFK Collins of Melbourne.

I draw you attention to one of the references, where a Finance Officer at the Queensland Treasury believes the material has saved her 3½ days per month.

How 1 person is saving 3½ days per month …

J, a Finance Officer with Qld Treasury, attended an “Excel Secrets for Busy People” session at the recent (Nov 2011) Queensland Inter-Governmental Accounting Group conference on the Gold Coast. Her subsequent thank you email read “Thank You, Thank You, Thank You …” about 100 times. Upon quizzing her further on this rather unusual response, she commented that “I mentally reviewed all the Excel tasks I had performed in my various roles over the years.  It seemed that each tip you gave had me saying ‘NOW they tell me!  It used to take HOURS to do that!.” J achieved immediate savings of 1½ days per month and is currently working on other ideas learnt at that event that will save her another 2 days per month. All this from a small investment in time attending an Excel training course. What could you learn?
